Drew has got his games. Harley has dolls and clothes. Zech's got... anything that will sit still long enough for him to eat it. But Joe, Joe is just a contented boy. He plays games with Drew. He plays dolls (though he wouldn't call it that) with Harley, and he does a great job of taking care of Jethro when we need him to.

Joe is really a brave boy too. I am proud of the hard worker that Joe is.

Joe has become a good swimmer. Pappy tells me different stories to me.

Where in the World?

This morning,
I asked Joe how we should decide which town or city we should live in when we move to Mali.
He said, "We should take a pool with us."
(Not really what I hoped for,) I said, "Well if we can take a pool with us, then we can go to any city."
Joe thought, "We should get a house close to a lot of other houses so we don't have to walk very far."
"Good thinking." They have weathered so much change and so many people coming and going with grace and steadiness.
I was reminded of a story about Joe that happened a while back when he made a similar comment to me this past week.
We (Jeff and Joe) were driving somewhere together. Joe was just perfectly happy and content, and as I looked at him in my rear view mirror, I said, "Joe, I love you so much."
He replied quickly, "You shouldn't love me so much that it would make you stop loving God."
I don't know how much he understands the truth of what he's saying, but it makes me praise God to see that there are ideas and ideals in his mind that I don't even fully grasp.
I do love God more than my family and more than Joe. I pray for them all the time, and I pray that they will love me in the same way. Pray for Joe and our three other kids.

Colorado

I'm in Colorado because my parents choosed to go there.
